Integrated curriculum – one in which the students learn about and experience the interrelationships of the functional areas of business. Business disciplines are viewed as parts to a whole, rather than as ends in and of themselves.

Application oriented curriculum – one in which students are expected to apply their knowledge to real-world problems and situations. This can be accomplished with such techniques as service learning, internships, and other experiential learning opportunities.

Global awareness – students must be prepared for careers with businesses that operate within a global context. Therefore, students must understand that they will encounter cultural beliefs and practices that are different from their own.

Leadership – includes both formal and informal leadership knowledge, skills and abilities. This concept requires that students understand team dynamics, theories of leadership and methods of influence that are needed to effectively lead others toward some goal.

Entrepreneurship – involves the recognition of opportunities, the understanding, evaluation and assumption of risk, and the use of innovative or creative thinking in the pursuit of some desired end
