College of Business students, who meet the prescribed degree requirements, will be awarded the bachelor of business administration degree in accounting. Students are required to complete a minimum of 51 semester hours of general education requirements, as well as the specific major requirements for a total of 126 degree hours. Students should complete the freshman and sophomore courses prior to the junior and senior level business courses. Students need to work with an advisor in the selection of the upper-level accounting major courses.

Educational requirements to sit for the CPA Exam include a minimum total of 150 semester hours of coursework. One way that Accounting students who plan to sit for the CPA Exam can meet this requirement is to pursue a double major in accounting and business administration. In addition to the 126 hours required for the accounting degree, College of Business students who complete 24 hours of additional specified course requirements will be awarded the bachelor of business administration degree in accounting and business administration.
